Music and a Meal

The Ignacio Community Library would like to provide a warm treat for our patrons in the midst of a chilly winter! Come enjoy the musical talents of renown local performer Tim Sullivan while enjoying a wide variety of hot soups (served with salads, breads and desserts!) All food is entirely free, but will be served on a first come, first serve basis – so be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, January 17th at 5pm. We look forward to seeing you there! |

"Selma" Film Showing

In honor of being closed for Martin Luther King Day on Monday, January 20th the ICL will be showing the film, “Selma” on Saturday, January 18th at 1 p.m. The unforgettable true story chronicles the tumultuous three-month period in 1965, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition. The film also includes the Oscar-winning song, “Glory” - performed by Common and John Legend. Fresh popcorn and refreshments will be provided! *This film is rated PG-13 for disturbing thematic material including violence, a suggestive moment, and brief strong language, so the ICL asks that anyone under the age of 13 be accompanied by an adult. |

Herb Hut Info Session

Kate Husted, the Executive Director of the Herb Hut Free Clinic will visit the ICL on Saturday, January 25th at 10 am to give a free presentation concerning her organization’s operations, as well as address how herbal remedies can aide in dealing with pesky winter illnesses such as the flu and the common cold! The Herb Hut Free Clinic is a non-profit organization that offers free and mobile herbal medicine to underserved people in La Plata County, CO. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, and we hope to see you there! |
