Workshops for Kindergarten Readiness

We are partnering with the Early Childhood Council of La Plata County to bring you 6 free Play & Learn workshops geared toward helping pre-school aged children prepare for kindergarten. Sessions include songs, stories and hands-on learning activities that support growth in early literacy, math, motor and social emotional skills; as well as free packets of resources and activities they can engage in with children at home. Parents and caregivers are invited to attend with their preschool age children (3-5 yrs old); Younger siblings may also attend but materials are not provided for them. Workshops are every second Wednesday of the Month at 9:15 am, January - June starting Wednesday, January 8th , 2020. |

Learn Coding!

Some folks say coding is the most important job skill of the future. Eight out of the top 25 jobs are tech jobs. Yet coding jobs aren’t solely in the tech field. Seventy percent are actually in other sectors. And since coding strengthens logic and problem-solving skills, even if students do not end up working in tech fields at all, they still benefit from learning how to code.
Spring Card Making Class

Womens' History Author Visit

In honor of Women’s History Month the ICL is proud to host Margaret M. Kirk, author of the book "They Persisted". In honor of the 100-year anniversary of women obtaining the right to vote by the passage of the 19th amendment, Margaret will discuss little known women who had a big impact, such as: Helen Marot, Mary Fields, Bessie Coleman, and many others. Kirk will also discuss her inspirations for creating her book and do a signing! |
