Events in July 2019

2 10:00 am: Art Class: Colored Pencils 10:00 am – 2:00 pm July 2, 2019 This class will serve as an introduction to colored pencils and watercolor colored pencils using new pastel mat pastel paper. We will use watercolor colored pencil to apply an underpainting of color, then use a water pen brush to go over underpainting to dissolve the wax in the watercolor pencil layer. The drawing is allowed to dry overnight. The drawing is finished with layers of colored pencil applied over the underpainting. In the second half of the class we will use watercolor colored pencils and watercolor graphite pencils to make prints with a small press. This class will run from May – June. Advanced registration is required and there is a limited number of slots for the class, so please call the library - or visit the front desk in person - to sign up. 8 10:00 am: Friends of ICL Meeting 10:00 am – 11:30 am July 8, 2019 The Friends of the Ignacio Community Library meet the 2nd Monday of every month. If you would like to sign up to be a Friend, please use the form found in the Book Sale space in the library. All are welcome.

12 3:45 pm: Legal Clinic 3:45 pm – 4:45 pm July 12, 2019 The Ignacio Community Library offers four free 15 minute video conferences to seek legal advice from a legal professional the second Friday afternoon of every month. Please call on the first day of each month to reserve your space!

17 6:15 pm: ICL Board of Trustees Meeting 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm July 17, 2019 To view the agenda for this meeting, click: March 2019 Agenda The Ignacio Community Library Board Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:15 PM in the IDEA Lab of the Ignacio Community Library. The public is invited to attend meetings of the ICL Board of Trustees. All are open to the public, unless confidential library or personnel business is being conducted. Public attendees to ICL Board meetings are not required to register or provide personal information.

20 11:00 am: Space Shuttle Program! 11:00 am – 12:30 pm July 20, 2019 Come join us at the ICL on the 50th anniversary of the American lunar landing as Lucinda Lounge shares a rare photograph and memorabilia collection belonging to her late brother, John M. Lounge, who went to space on three space shuttle missions! Ms. Lounge will also be sharing her very own in-depth stories of her time spent with her brother during his NASA training sessions and will even pass around coins that have been to space and back. This program is suited for both adults and kids who want to learn more about the American Space Shuttle Program – especially on the 50th anniversary of such a historical day for the United States’ space program!
