We’re weaving health into the fabric of our communities with Connect to Health @ Your Library. Ignacio Community Library is making it easier for residents to connect to a doctor or other health professional. At ICL, now you will be able to check out or use our kits in-house, which include a hotspot, computer, blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, ring light, scale, and headset/microphone. We’ll even be offering room dividers for privacy for our in-house option. Explore a new era of wellness right in your community library. 

According to the CDC, rural residents are more affected in dealing with chronic conditions. One of the top reasons for this gap is the lack of access to healthcare and distance barriers in our rural communities. Healthcare access for rural residents is often prohibitive, in addition, rural areas have few local clinics and not enough providers or specialists.
