ICL Art Class is proud to have Mary Lynne Kennedy teaching a Pastel Class at our library every Tuesday morning at 10 am from Tuesday, November 5th to Tuesday, December 17th.
There is not cost for this class, but participants will need to purchase their own supplies:
One 12" x 18" Gaterboard or stiff board of your choice to be used for mounting your paper.
One 9" x 12" UART 400 grit sanded paper (can be purchased at class by the sheet)
Hard pastels for underpainting and detail
Soft pastels
Paper towels, wet wipes, and/or cloth towels for wiping hands and cleaning work space
Tape
A pencil

Writer's Group5:00 pm - 6:30 pm - December 5, 2019
Join in with a local group of writers at the ICL in order to share and/or improve your writing skills!
The first meeting of every month will be focused on a specific writing technique and the second meeting will be more for writing and/or bringing in work to be shared and critiqued.
Author Visit10:00 am - 11:30 am - December 7, 2019
The ICL will be visited by C. Joseph Greaves, author of the novel "Church of the Graveyard Saints" on Saturday, December, 7th at 10 am as a part of the Four Corners/One Book Program.
Mr. Greaves will discuss his book with patrons who have read the novel, and even if you haven't read it you are welcome to attend and learn more!

Wear your pajamas, bring your stuffed friend and listen to a story. Then, tuck your pal into bed and wish them sweet dreams. Who knows what adventures they will have overnight in the library!
Come back Wednesday to pick up your friend. All stuffed participants will take home a photo memory book of their sleepover.
If you are unable to attend the Storytime but would still like to participate you may drop off your stuffed animal anytime Tuesday, Dec. 10th.
County Commissioner Open Office Hours10:00 am - 11:30 am - December 12, 2019
La Plata County Commissioner Julie Westendorff will hold public office hours from 10 am to noon in the ICL Board Room. Community members are encouraged to stop by and share their ideas!
The Ignacio Community Library offers four free 15 minute video conferences to seek legal advice from a legal professional the second Friday afternoon of every month. Please call on the first day of each month to reserve your space!
Holiday Card Making Class10:00 am - 3:00 pm - December 14, 2019
This card making class if for family members who had a photo session at the library or already have a digital file of family holiday photo.
The class will demonstrate 2 different ways to incorporate your holiday photo into a greeting card or create an e-card to share with family and friends!
The Book Sisters Book Club5:30 pm - 7:00 pm - December 16, 2019
An evening for women to let their hair down, make new friends and enjoy discovering a new book. This months featured book is "Like Water for Chocolate" by Laura Esquivel.

On Thursday, Dec. 19th at 5 pm the ICL will be visited by Jo Patti, an American-born New Zealand citizen who has worked mostly as a contractor for the US in fields spanning education, health, research and training.
Her job has taken her around the world, from helping educate women in countries living under Sharia law, to working with the Gumbaynggir Aboriginal communities in Australia.
Jo is also the author of numerous books – including "Kismet", a book of poetry, and "Getting Time Off the X", a non-fiction book filled with stories of people Jo has met from all across the world.
While at the ICL Jo will be doing readings from her books and hosting discussions about her practice of writing – as well as other life experiences that have shaped her as an author.
Refreshments will be provided, and we hope to see you there!

3D Printing the Holidays1:00 pm - 4:00 pm - December 21, 2019
Hitch up your sleigh, grab the relatives and come on down to the library to watch and learn how 3D printers create items, such as holiday ornaments, using additive manufacturing processes.
Light snacks and beverages (including Hot Chocolate) will be provided.
